Red Light Therapy

Infrared or near-infrared light therapy is well-proven to have therapeutic effects on the body. Much like the energy and light of the sun, red light therapy is a safe and effective way to have this visible light penetrate into the body, down to the cellular level. Specifically, red light therapy has a positive effect on the mitochondria’s energy production in the cells, leading to the mitochondria to deliver more ATP to the cells, thereby increasing energy all-around in the body.

Benefits of red light therapy include, but are not limited to:

  • Promoting wound healing and tissue repair

  • Supporting collagen production / anti-aging

  • Reducing swelling and inflammation (pain)

  • Improving joint health

  • Improving physical performance, muscle recovery and energy levels

  • Increasing melatonin / improving sleep

 How it works:

Sessions typically range from 10-20 minutes. To increase effectiveness, removal of clothing is warranted however, you may dress down to the level of your comfort. This can be done seated, or standing.

Red light therapy can be done virtually every day, as part of a balanced recovery/health-enhancing protocol. There is no need to go more than 20 minutes/day, and in some instances, it may be best to take days off between sessions. Just like with sun exposure, a minimum effective dose is the ticket.
